“Annette” 2005 Leopard Catamaran: A Close-up Overview
This 2005 Leopard catamaran has a lot that will interest boat lovers in its specifications and design. Designed by Morelli & Melvin and built by Robertson & Caine, it is very spacious and contains more amenities than is usual for its size.

These specifications and features are some of the reasons that makes Anette such a successful charter boat, registered in Singapore for up to 18 guests. Her monthly charter revenue could definitely help any new owner reduce their boat operating costs if they desire.

Key points of interest of this vessel:
  •  Annette was up-slipped in November 2018 and antifouled.
  • An updated RINA survey which is available on request.
  • New equipment and engines fitted (see below).
  • Affordable, well branded, well maintained catamaran. She has a sizeable monthly charter income, if this is desired, at no cost.
Apart from having a large outdoor deck and broad walkways along both sides, the boat had been designed to house four cabins. This means that it is able to accommodate four couples onboard. There are two large heads and separate shower stalls on the port side as well as on the starboard. The cockpit is spacious and outside dining area is covered  by a hard top Bimini. The galley is also open and rear-facing, making it possible to install a bar overlooking the dining area and the saloon, for those who want to enjoy the sea view while relaxing at the back of the boat.

The Leopard 40 claimed 2005 “Boat of the Year” in Cruising World Magazine  owing to two standout features – the first being the incredible speed on water and the second one ease of handling.
Four cabins, two large heads, and separate shower stalls in a boat that sails excellently well – you really cannot ask for more!
Engine overview of the Leopard 40 catamaran
This 2005 Leopard catamaran is powered by two Kubota WM Diesel Marine Engines, and both have been replaced with brand new engines in 2016.

The two engines are located 4.5 metres apart, giving it an exceptional level of maneuverability even in confined spaces. There is also a 245 Traveller Aluminum tender without an outboard motor that has been mounted on davits.

The primary anchor is a 15kg Delta anchor with 12m of chain while the secondary anchor is a 15kg Bruce anchor with a 100m rope rode. The boat has also 200 liters of fuel capacity and 600 liters of water capacity in two tanks.

Cockpit Features
There are three standout features of the cockpit: a full canvas enclosure for the large cockpit, with drop-down side shades for the cockpit, a lovely C-shaped dining table and seating area, large enough to seat 6 people, which is a great seating spot under the hardtop. To top this off the cockpit has a magma gas barbeque grill for leisurely dining at sea or by the dockside.
Saloon Features
The saloon has a saloon table, a saloon sofa re-upholstered in 2018, and a CD/AM/FM radio with marine speakers (within the saloon and cockpit areas).
Galley Features
There is a stove, an oven and a stainless DC-powered side-by-side refrigerator and freezer that takes care of chilling your drinks during the day and night!
Cabins & Heads
The boat has 4 queen berths and the 2 heads come with electric flush seawater toilets.
Electronics
The Leopard catamaran for sale has a Raymarine E series P70 chart plotter, a Raymarine GPS Smart Pilot E12199, a Raymarine ST60+ Tridata instrument display and wind instrument Auto Helm, all of which were replaced in 2012. The chart plotter was designed to be viewable in bright sunlight with good colour contrasts and has a dual core processor and a separate graphics processor to produce those sharp images. Best of all, it has LED backlighting that consumes very little electricity. The instrument display provides information on speed and sea depth in a readable 3-line format. Sea temperature and speed over ground (SOG) are also captured.
The VHF Marine IC-M200 Transreceiver which produces loud and clear audio over the noise typically found in maritime settings, was replaced in 2017.

Conclusion
At just 40 feet, this catamaran for sale packs amenities normally found on boats at least 10 feet larger. The space onboard has truly been optimised and yet, it is not as expensive as other similar boats on the market. The superb performance and the excellent load-carrying capacity of the boat is bound to attract the astute buyer.

Other points to note include the superb visibility, and a forward-facing galley that allows for a panoramic view and everything that is in place for a leisurely sail. The spaciousness adds comfort and the interiors are thoughtfully designed to ensure that there are ventilation and natural light in all areas of the boat.
